I found CrossFit when I was looking for a way to get into weightlifting. I had been very inconsistent and had struggled to find a community that would hold me accountable. After stumbling upon my first CrossFit workout I was immediately hooked! I loved being surrounded by people that enjoyed working out as much as me. I enjoyed how the WODs were always changing and challenging me in different ways. I saw my strength improve and was able to reach goals that had previously seemed unattainable.

I began coaching in the fall of 2020. Being able to share my passion with others and help people reach their goals and push themselves in ways they didn’t know they could is so rewarding to me! I have found so much joy in being able to guide people and watch them grow through their CrossFit journey!

I’ve had a complicated history with working out. I grew up a competitive swimmer but never found much joy in the sport. I have always had a desire to be fit but struggled to find something that kept my interest for very long. When I found CrossFit in October of 2013 that all changed. I loved and still love the wide range of skills that CrossFit provides, Olympic lifting and the gymnastics movements being some of my favorites. There are always areas to improve, always another pinnacle to reach. CrossFit’s broad range of modalities makes learning things outside of the gym easier to catch on to.

As a coach, I thrive on seeing our athletes achieve things they didn’t believe possible. There is such joy in coaching people through their personal challenges and sharing in their victories. I love the endless ways movements can be adjusted for skill level for continued and progressive gains. Everyone comes with different goals and driving motivations, and I enjoy getting to know each member personally. My hope is that we create an environment where people can flourish physically and emotionally.

My first CrossFit class was in October of 2012.  It’s hard to remember what my first WOD was but I thought to myself this shouldn’t be that hard, oh how wrong I was. I remember I was the last one to finish the workout and was shocked at how challenging these seemingly simple movements were. Strangely I couldn’t stop thinking about that workout! So, needless to say it only took a couple weeks and I was hooked. CrossFit changed my fitness goals from a vanity focus to becoming a balanced and athletic human. My favorite aspects of CrossFit is the diversity in skills and movements especially olympic weightlifting. I love the community and camaraderie that comes with being a part of a CrossFit community. I started coaching classes after a couple of years of starting CrossFit and realized I love teaching people how to move their bodies well for lifelong health. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge to help people achieve their fitness goals and accomplish things they may have thought was not possible.

I started my CrossFit journey almost 13 years ago and still love every minute of it. Growing up in Southern California I was heavily involved in sports. Both individual and team but preferred team sports overall. I attended college in Oregon and remained active with running and some weightlifting. I settled down in Seattle and after having my second child I found the sport of Crossfit. This kind of fitness wasn’t any thing I had ever experienced before. The combination of gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting and high intensity conditioning was exactly what I was looking for. Not only did crossfit change my level of fitness but the community in which I found was very supportive. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the people around me, pushing me to just keep moving. Deciding to become a coach was the next step in this journey. Being able to coach individuals with all types of fitness levels and watching their progress, has been extremely rewarding. I am very fortunate to be apart of the process. Whether on the road for work or at home with my kids, I always find time for a work. Have fun and enjoy the journey.

I started CrossFit at a very young age immediately I took a liking to it. I loved how it was always different every day and how it pushed me more than anything. I love the community it brought me, full of people who enjoyed pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Years later after many ups and downs in my own fitness journey, I realized how much I loved watching people turn their life around by health and fitness and wanted to help guide people on that journey, that’s when I decided to get my CrossFit Level 1 and start coaching.

Teenage me would be shocked to see that I do CrossFit, let alone coach! I was a fencer for almost 10 years, but I would show up late on purpose so I could avoid doing conditioning. I first started CrossFit in 2012 during my sophomore year of college as I was reluctantly researching nutrition and weight loss, like every other woman I knew. Once I joined an affiliate, I loved it - an exercise program, something I would have thought was impossible. I started coaching a year or so later and the rest is history.

While my full-time job is working as an engineering director, my part-time love is having the honor of being on the Renascent Athletics training staff.
